Information for Mortgage Field Services Vendors

Introduction 

You may be familiar with the ABC# as a standard for the Mortgage Field Services Industry background check. This service is now known as ShieldHub and signifies a major step forward in providing you with enhanced features, improved security, and a seamless experience.

ShieldHub is designed for independent contractors that need tools to securely manage and share background check information with clients and customers. ShieldHub offers a user-friendly interface, enhanced features, and security to manage your background check details with your trusted client and customer network. 

Since ShieldHub provides you tools to manage your own account and data, you can feel free to share your ShieldID (ABC#) with other partners you work with. It’s our hope that ShieldHub is the last background check you’ll need to buy.

Renewing a ShieldID (ABC#)

If you have never logged into ShieldHub.com and already completed a background check or have an ABC#, use the same email address provided to purchase the background check through ShieldHub’s CRA partner to enable your ShieldHub User Account.

• Click this link to the forgot password feature: https://portal.shieldhub.com/forgotpassword or click the forgot password link from the login page.
• From the login page, enter the email address you used to purchase your background check. Click the Continue Button to proceed.
• Check your email.  If you had an account with ShieldHub, you will be sent an email. If you believe you have an account under a different email that you no longer have access to, contact our customer support team.
• Verify your Email. Either click the Reset Password Button or enter the code on the verification page to proceed. Tip: you can copy & paste the verification code.
• You will then be asked to update your password.  Both passwords must match in order to proceed.  Your password will be updated immediately. 

Getting a ShieldID (ABC#)

If you have never logged into ShieldHub.com and do not have an existing ABC#, you will need to create a ShieldHub User Account.

• Registration: Visit www.ShieldHub.com to begin registration.
• Account Information. Register with your professional information.
• Terms & Conditions: Review and accept the ShieldHub terms and conditions.
• Verify your Email. You will receive a verification email to the email used for registration. Tip: you can copy & paste the verification code.

Purchase a Background Check

After successfully logging into your ShieldHub User Account, you will have the option to Purchase a Background Check.

• Purchase A Background Check. Click the purchase background check button to start the purchase process. For additional assistance with purchasing a background check visit the ShieldHub Support page link below.
• Important. You are required to take a selfie and provide images of a valid government ID during the process. A smartphone works best, however a computer with a camera will also be sufficient. Here are some tips for a successful ID verification.

ShieldID^TM and ShieldScore^TM

As a ShieldHub customer you will receive a unique ShieldID and a ShieldScore which is composite individual compliance score representing your criminal background history that you can share with unlimited partners and customers. 

ShieldID is valid for 1 year and includes continuous monitoring of criminal record activity through ShieldPulse and ensures your ShieldScore is always up to date. Your ShieldID^TM is completely portable and shareable with all potential partners.
