If you do not have a valid driver's license, state ID card, or U.S. Passport, you cannot complete the background check process through ShieldHub.
- You will not pass the identify verification if your ID is expired
- An extension document is not acceptable.
- Paper or temporary IDs are not acceptable.
When completing a background check you will be required to complete two steps for identity verification. To avoid additional fees and processing time, please complete both steps according to the instructions below. You will need to have a camera phone available to take "selfies" and a valid form of government ID with your photo.
Accepted Identification Documents
Includes non-expired permanent driver's licenses, passports, or state issued identification that include a legible barcode on the back of the ID. IDs that are damaged or heavily worn may not be acceptable and subject to resubmission with a different form of identification.
- Driver’s license from all 50 states, the District of Columbia (DC), and other U.S. territories (Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Mariana Islands, and Puerto Rico).
