Submitting a Background Check Application

The Submission Process

Once you have purchased a background check option, the system will then open a window and lead you through an easy step-by-step application process.

Before you can begin you must review and accept the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) summary of rights.

at the bottom you will be required to certify that you accept the disclosures in order to proceed.

Step 1: Provide and Update Your Basic Information 

To facilitate the purchase, ShieldHub will pre-populate those fields that are filled in from your ShieldHub profile.  Please update the remaining information then click the Next button to proceed.

NOTICE: Your correct LEGAL NAME, Social Security Number (SSN/ID), and Date of Birth are required to perform an accurate background check. 

Failure to submit accurate information may result in invalid results and require the purchase of a new criminal background check report. 

Neither ShieldHub or the consumer reporting agency will not offer a refund when incorrect information has been submitted. Please see ShieldHub's Purchase Terms and Conditions for additional information. 

Step 2: Provide Your Current Address Information

Step 3: Sign the Disclosures

On the next step you will be required to sign two disclosures.  Please note, that these are on two different tabs at the top of the disclosure.  You will are required to sign both disclosures in order to proceed.

Step 4: Review

Review the summary BEFORE you submit the application and click finish.  Once submitted, you will be unable to make additional corrections.

If you do need to make any corrections, click the EDIT button to return to that section and make edits.  

Step 5: Confirmation

The final step will confirm that the order has been placed.  You can also download copies of any of the disclosures you have signed.  Simple close the window by clicking the close button to return to ShieldHub.

Once you close the window, you should now see that your background check is in-progress.  Please allow 4-6 business days to complete. 

Once completed, you will receive an email alert with your ShieldScore^TM. You can download the final results from your ShieldHub account.
